Directors and Advisors

The Zhou Enlai Peace Institute is a joint effort of citizen peacemakers from China and America, who possess a wide variety of political, social, cultural, technical and communications skills. It is directed, in part, by immediate relatives of the former Premier, including his eldest nephew, Zhou Hua Zhang, his niece who grew up with the Premier in the White House of China, Zhou Bing De, plus his grand-niece, Zhou Xiao Fang and his grand-nephew, Zhou Qing.

Michael North is an American business executive, entrepreneur, technology developer and international investor, the founder of North Communications and Greenstar.

Xiao Fang Zhou is a jade expert and writer, originally from Beijing, with 20 years business experience in the US. Specializing in cultural and business exchange, Mandarin translation, jade jewelry design, import/export.

Chuck Spezzano is a global authority on human development, best-selling author of 30 books, founder of Psychology of Vision, who teaches seminars year-round to audiences around the world.

Dr. Peimin Ni is an author and professor of philosophy, and a noted calligrapher. He is the President of the Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy. He teaches at Grand Valley State University, Michigan, and authored six books, including “On Confucius” and “The Art of Chinese Calligraphy.” His work has been featured in the New York Times.

Mary Buffett is a best-selling author published in 18 languages, a world-renowned investor and speaker, corporate strategy consultant and former member of the family of billionaire Warren Buffett.

Zhou Bing De is the niece of former Premier Zhou Enlai. She is a former member of China People Political Consultative Committee, Vice President of China News, Consultant to Zhou Enlai and Deng Ying Chao Studies Center. She is a Member of the China Association for Promoting Peaceful Reunification, and the author of “My Uncle Zhou En Lai”, and “West Flower Hall.”

Fan Li Glosserman is a leader of a new social movement in China — to make non-profit organizations (NGO) more effective. She is a writer, teacher and organizer, working with several international groups to assist Chinese organizations to build such organizations in a correct legal format, and to advise various government bodies in China about policy.

Brad Glosserman is executive director of the Pacific Forum of the Center for Strategic and International Studies; he is an expert on American relations with China, Japan and Korea.

Lency Spezzano is co-founder of Psychology of Vision, an international firm that provides education and business seminars and publishes highly-acclaimed books in the domain of personal growth. With activities in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Italy, Austria, the U.K., India, Japan, Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China; in partnership with her husband, Chuck Spezzano, a member of the Board.

Mike Little is an investment banking executive, with extensive experience in venture capital, private equity, and high-net-worth account management. He is based in New York City, and over a long career has managed investments at Prudential, Cowen & Co., Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney.

Cynthia Ning is associate director of the Center for Chinese Studies and U.S. director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Hawaii, the largest Confucius Institute in the United States. She is a well-known teacher, author and speaker about many aspects of Chinese Studies.

Mavis Wang is the founder of Spiritual Ocean, a business education company based in Taiwan that serves companies and individuals throughout greater China. Her organization creates dynamic personal growth seminars, and has hundreds of active professional members.

Charles Gay is one of the most respected experts in the world, in the field of renewable energy. He has been an engineer, manager and investor in solar power for more than 30 years, an executive at ARCO Solar and currently at Applied Solar, the largest solar power equipment manufacturer in the world, a division of Fortune-500 Applied Materials with major facilities in Xian, China. He served as the Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, at the Department of Energy, during the 1990’s.

Laurence Brahm is a member of The United Nations Theme Group on Poverty and Inequality, a global activist, international mediator, lawyer, economist and author. He is the leading advocate of a fresh development paradigm — The Himalayan Consensus — an innovative approach to development. With 30 years experience in China and Asia, he has served as an advisor to multi-national corporations and regional governments. He divides his time between Beijing, Lhasa and Dakar.

Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D. is a graduate of Stanford Medical School and a former faculty member of the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco, where he has held fellowships in child psychiatry at Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute. He is an internationally recognized authority in the fields of psychiatry, health, and education. In 1975, he established the Center for Attitudinal Healing. There are now over 150 independent Centers for Attitudinal Healing all serving their communities in 28 countries. Dr. Jampolsky teaches extensively on the subjects of forgiveneness, individual and family healing, and transformation of society through peace.

Diane V. Cirincione, Ph.D. is a therapist and former postdoctoral clinical researcher at Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute, San Francisco. Dr. Cirincione is an internationally known lecturer, author and entrepreneur ,with 30 years business experience in corporate development. Through the project, “Children As Teachers of Peace,” Dr. Cirincione inspired individuals from numerous countries to bridge youth from countries around the world including Russia, China, and Central America.

Elyse Ribbons is a leading media executive based in Beijing. She is a fluent Mandarin and English speaker with extensive activities in television, film, fashion and radio, and directs an independent theater company in Beijing. She is highly sought as a speaker, official interpreter, and spokesperson, and has been director of international business affairs for HT-CEO.

Arthur Lipper has been a member of the New York Stock Exchange, and a leading figure in the international financial community, for decades. As CEO of Arthur Lipper Corporation he was the originator of the concepts behind mutual fund performance analysis and stock index funds and futures. He served as Chairman of New York & Foreign Securities Corporation and on the boards many other companies. He directs British Far East Holdings, an investment banking and consulting firm which is the leader in the field of royalties and portfolio monitoring and management. He served as Editor-In-Chief of Venture Magazine, and has lectured at Harvard, Yale, Georgetown and Stanford.

Chungliang Al Huang is a philosopher, calligrapher, performing artist, and recognized Tao master. Chungliang Al Huang is the founder-president of the Living Tao Foundation, dedicated to building bridges for deeper understanding between China and the West. He works with many academic institutes, including the Academia Sinica, the World Academy of Art and Science, the Parliament of the World Religions, and  the Wu Yi Cultural Research Center in China. He was a close colleague and collaborator with the great philosopher Alan Watts, and with renowned mythologist Joseph Campbell. He is the author of numerous best-selling books, including the classic, Embrace Tiger, Return To Mountain.

Angela Wong is the Vice-President of International Marketing/Asia for Ewing/Sotheby’s International Realty, the leading luxury global real estate firm. Her wide experience in management, public relations, business and finance across Asia, including Hong Kong and mainland China, make her a valued resource of integrity and insight, and a sought-after public speaker. She resides in Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

Wang Yuying is one of the leaders of the business community in Tianjin, one of China’s largest industrial trading cities. He also directs the Tianjin Sister City Council for the Promotion of Enterprises, which develops productive trade and cultural ties between Tianjin and other major cities around the world.

Katherine Li, Ph.D. has over 30 years of international experience in education, cross-cultural dialogue and conflict transformation. She is particularly interested in the area of aesthetics as an entry point for resilience and peacebuilding.


As China returns to the head table of the family of nations, it is vital that people everywhere understand the fundamental yearning for peace by Chinese people of all ages, as exemplified by the former Premier, who is respected and beloved throughout China today. Through a full appreciation of the life of Zhou Enlai, people will understand the personality of the Chinese people better, and the foundation of mutual respect and peace will firmly set.
