Trailer: Families of Peace
January 1, 2024
The above short video presents highlights of an event held on 11-11-23, titled “Families of Peace.”
A two-hour program condensed into 9 minutes.
Over the past 12 years, the Zhou Enlai Peace Institute has celebrated a network of peacemakers, artists, speakers, researchers, videographers, producers and writers.
Our vision: to nurture the concrete, practical basis for deep, enduring peace — individually, in families, communities, states and nations — by concentrating on people-to-people connection: citizen diplomacy.
We focus on positive relations between the United States and China, and are also engaged in international peace efforts through the United Nations and other global organizations.
We recognize the genius and character of Premier Zhou Enlai of China, as a thinker, leader, and exemplar of peace.
We are committed to continue this course through special events, publications, professional and student exchange, reciprocal economic and environmental development projects, and the support of high-level confidential dialogue among leaders, youth, women, artists and traditional cultures.
Peace endures, through even the darkest days. We offer prayers for those who bear suffering today, in Israel, Gaza, Ukraine and all places of tragedy. Through wisdom, commitment, hard work and the support of Heaven, peace is the most powerful force on earth.
This event on November 11, 2023 celebrates several milestones:
- Veterans Day, when those who serve and defend their nations pause for peace;
- The passing of the last Queen of Hawai’i, Lili’uokalani;
- The completion of the 125th birthday celebration of Zhou Enlai, China’s peacemaker;
- The 12th anniversary of the founding of the Zhou Enlai Peace Institute, on 11-11-11 during APEC in Honolulu
