On April 7, 2016, representatives of the Zhou Enlai Peace Institute were honored to speak to two classes at the University of Hawaii at Manoa i Honolulu: “History of Peace Movements” and “Leadership for Social Change.”
Professor Maya Soetoro-Ng hosted the presentation, at which Xiaofang Zhou introduced the new film, “In the Footsteps of Zhou Enlai,” and Michael North spoke about the Five Principles of Peace, created by Zhou Enlai.
Many of the students heard, for the first time, an in-depth description of the life and work of China’s great peacemaker, and added this knowledge to their understanding of other global peacemakers.
Artist Deborah Nehmad spoke about her beautiful and moving portraits of social change, on display at the Honolulu Academy.
